Frequently Asked Questions

Why does this exist?

The Houston-Area GSA Network allows the LGBTQ community in Houston to be closer with each other and be able to plan events together, give each other ideas, become one great big team, and give us an effective and broad communication bond for allies throughout the city.

What is the Houston-Area GSA Network?

The Houston-Area GSA Network is the new, reliable and effective way for GSA's throughout Houston Area to communicate andinteract. It is essentially a culmination of all of the documented GSA's in the Houston Area, interwoven into a web of communication through the Network itself.

Isn't this like the Texas GSA Network?

In some aspects, but this is a more efficent way of GSA's within the Houston Area to communicate with one another.

How do I get into the members page?

In order for that to happen you will need to be a GSA president and then you would need to sign up in the top right corner and use the email that you previously provided us and then we will approve your application and you will be granted access to the members page.

Who can be part of it?

Although all GSA's members are a part of the network in many ways, the actual members of the network are the GSA presidents and sponsors, here in the Houston area.

What school districts do you guys cover?

We actually cover all the school districts within thirteen counties in the Gulf Coast Regional area, which are:

Austin County, Brazoria County, Chambers County, Colorado County, Fort Bend County, Galveston County, Harris County, Liberty County, Matagorda County, Montgomery County, Walker County, Waller County and Wharton County.

But if your school district isn't in these counties and you are in the Houston area you can still apply and we also welcome private schools!

Do I have to re-apply each year?

No, at the end of each year we will ask you for the updated information of your school's GSA.
